SNRR
Education program
SNRR values ongoing referee education and coaching
Referee education is a key priority for the Sydney North Rugby Referees (SNRR). Our aim is to ensure all our members are given every opportunity to be updated with the skills, knowledge and confidence to perform to the best of their ability with the constant aim of improvement for everyone at every level in a fun and engaging environment.
As part of this development, SNRR holds Education and Coaching nights from March to September inclusive in order to provide ongoing development opportunities to match officials of all ages, levels and experiences.
The evening typically covers any updates on any latest news and events, law amendments or focal points, as well sharing some fun stories and great camaraderie and friendship amongst fellow referees.
A typical evening will consist of practical demonstrations and interactions for developing skills and techniques and open forum discussions. There may also be a particular aspect of the game with a presentation and we have been lucky enough to have International Test Referees and Super Rugby Referees such as Angus Gardner, Amy Perret and Will Houston present at our events.
Generally these are run monthly during the season, typically on a Tuesday evening from 7pm to 9pm and they are held at various locations within our associations district. The calendar for the current year can be found here: SNRR Calendar.
By attending a minimum of two of our Education nights, SNRR will waive your annual membership fee, so there is an added incentive to attend.
